Bridge Design Competition
2026
This Year's Theme
"Bridging the gap - Urban connectivity and industrial resillience"
As Southeast Asia rapidly urbanizes, our infrastructure must do more than just connect cities; it must safeguard the regional supply chains that feed our nations. This year’s theme, 'Bridging the Gap: Urban Connectivity and Industrial Resilience,' is inspired by the unique challenges of Blue Valley, Cameron Highlands—a critical 'operational landscape' that serves as a vital food basket for both Malaysia and Singapore. By focusing on urban connectivity, we highlight the bridge's role in integrating remote highland agricultural hubs with bustling lowland urban centers. Meanwhile, industrial resilience challenges our participants to design for the heavy, asymmetrical logistics loads typical of the winding, high-altitude terrain found across the Titiwangsa Range. We invite the next generation of engineers to pioneer sustainable, future-ready designs that uphold the economic integrity and climate resilience of the ASEAN community.
